Nova Hirsch
Behavior Specialist
My name is Nova Hirsch and I was born and raised in Massachusetts. At the age of 14, I began working in youth programs as a volunteer at summer camp. I enjoyed the human aspects of this work so much, that I attended a private college that specialized in outdoor education. I received my B.S. in Adventure Education Leadership in 2004, and that is when my great pleasure also became my career.

Since graduating I have worked at several youth development programs. At Ironwood, I thoroughly enjoy the concentrated focus on family. Supportive family relationships are an essential part in what we do here and the skills that are learned help to our residents to return home with great hope for a lifetime of ongoing success. It's truly quite wonderful to witness.

We use quotes three times a day at Ironwood to help motivate one another throughout our day. The kids have really great contributions that speak to their needs of the day. One of my own favorite quotes is: "Be the change you want to see."
