Michael Ambrose grew up in Danvers, Massachusetts. He attended and graduated from Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute High School in neighboring Hathorne, where he majored in large animal science. Mike worked as a farm laborer for many of the few remaining farms in Essex County as well as in the woods and as a laborer and equipment operator for various construction companies. Some of Mike’s proudest memories are the life lessons taught to him by the older farmers, woodsmen and construction workers he met as a young man. He now feels fortunate to be able to pass what he was taught on to a new generation of youth.

Mike lives in Morrill with his wife -- and best friend of thirty years -- and their three children. He has two daughters in college and a son in middle school. He enjoys reading, listening to music, hunting, fishing, and is an amateur naturalist. A favorite saying of Mike’s is “Hard work equals success.”
