Maryanna Ray
Behavior Specialist
My name is Maryanna Ray, and I was born and raised in Maine. I received an associate degree from NBBI - the New Brunswick Bible Institute in ‘02 and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in psychology at the University of Maine at Augusta. I’ve been a Behavior Specialist for more than ten years and enjoy working with young people and have a great desire to see them succeed in life.

Here at Ironwood, I am thrilled to have the chance to touch lives in a positive way. I enjoy seeing teens go from feeling depressed, sad, or troubled when they first arrive at Ironwood, to feeling confident, content, and ambitious when they leave. As an outdoor and sports-oriented person, I find it inspiring to pass these skills on to our young people at Ironwood. Our teens do well here because the program makes them face themselves and think. It gives them a second chance at life in a safe and secure atmosphere. One of my favorite sayings is “Sometimes in life we have to take a step back in order to take two steps forward.”
