Hello my name is Jane Maynard and I am originally from Hallowell, Maine, currently I live in Stockton Springs, Maine with my husband of 21 years. We have a daughter, Lynnsay, who is currently a junior in college.
I bring to Ironwood many years of administrative experience, formerly working with teens at a residential treatment center, also as a Family Integration Supervisor for adolescent clients in the foster care system and as administrative support for those with mental illness. I have always had a strong desire and commitment to serve those who have found themselves or loved ones feeling a sense of hopelessness or despair. As Intake Coordinator for the Ironwood family, this commitment has deepened as I have watched the dramatic changes in the lives of the students and their families. When not working I enjoy reading, gardening, volunteering at a local soup kitchen, being at the ocean and spending time in the sun. Most importantly I enjoy sharing time with my family, my church family and growing in my relationship with God. Being a part of the Ironwood family, I have taken great pleasure in enjoying the beauty of this campus – to catch the sunset over the fields while the horses, alpacas and donkeys roam about – can really make you stop in your tracks. The woods and trails are magnificent and enjoying a roaring fire at Frye is a great way to spend a few moments in my day. I have truly enjoyed watching the students interact with the variety of animals we have here. It has been amazing to watch an otherwise angry, hostile streetsavy child become a gentle caretaker for any number of cats, dogs, horses, pigs and other furry friends. In watching them interact I have been prompted to recall one of my most favorite verses, “Do unto others as you would like them to do for you.” |
