My name is Daniel Cushman, and I was born in New Hampshire and raised in Maine. I received my Associates Degree from Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor, Maine. I volunteered in the U.S. Army for five years and when I was honorably discharged I found a job as a counselor at a treatment center for young adult males where I worked for two years. This was where I discovered how rewarding it is to help people. I chose to work at Ironwood Therapeutic Boarding School because I felt I could make a difference here with the knowledge I have acquired working with young people. Our teens do well at Ironwood because our school and residential treatment center is a well-rounded program that teaches respect and integrity. My favorite motto that I use with the kids is "A little respect goes a long way."
