Allyson May
Director of Animal Therapy
Allyson grew up in Massachusetts and is a graduate of the University of Maine. Having started riding at a young age, Allyson was involved with horses for most of her life; working for a show barn and traveling the east coast show circuit as well as competing on her college equestrian team. Before coming to Ironwood, Allyson taught adolescents at a barn, making an effort to keeping her lessons fun and engaging while setting attainable goals for her students to reach for. Being able to combine her passion of horses while also being able to help others makes going to work everyday something to look forward to.

Allyson spent a year as a volunteer at a therapeutic riding facility, and more recently was a regular volunteer with her dog Max with Caring Canines visiting therapy dogs. In her free time, Allyson enjoys traveling, and now exploring all the coast of Maine has to offer.
