Dear Referring Professional,

Thank you for considering Ironwood as a solution for your clients.

Ironwood for reuniting families:

In addition to our sophisticated clinical program, our rigorous academic program, and a breadth of alternative modalities including equine-assisted therapy, horticulture, canine training, art, and a wide variety of therapeutic recreation opportunities, we provide another unique service. We strive to reunite families when indicated after an average stay of 6-9 months. Not only can that help manage cost for your clients but also their fear and anxiety.

Week for week, our residents receive double the amount of treatment hours with a licensed professional than that of the typical wilderness therapy program or therapeutic boarding school. This feature along with the depth and breadth of programming is what allows so many of our clients to enjoy success back at home with their families after discharge.

Ironwood for hard to place cases:

Many referring professionals are presented with hard to places cases such as an adolescent with diabetes or one who uses a wheelchair. Due to the structure of our campus and accessibility of medical staff we can consider working with these cases provided that their clinical profile is a match.

Ironwood for your client:

If you would like to consider Ironwood for one of your clients, please contact our Clinical Director, Robin Cubberly, Ph.D. Robin is a great resource for our referring professionals. Feel free to call her to discuss your client’s profile. You may also fax testing and other supporting documents for her review. After familiarizing herself with your client’s profile, she can discuss the appropriateness of the match and also highlight some of the strategies her team might use to reach your client and his or her family.

Ironwood for outstanding communication:

While your client is at Ironwood, we will consider you a part of the treatment team. We will provide you with weekly or biweekly updates by phone or e-mail depending on your preference. We will also keep you informed of any milestones your client reaches such as a level change, academic achievement, signing themselves in on their 18th birthday, or major breakthroughs with their family. Some of our referring professionals come to Ironwood for family weekends or graduations. We welcome your full involvement.
