Enrichment Programs
Ironwood, a Maine approved secondary school, offers a full and individualized academic program taught by certified high school teachers and administrators. Experienced education staff provide daily teaching, supervision and tutoring in our two new dedicated school buildings.
We provide a challenging, self-paced, flexible learning opportunity that can be customized to the individual student’s academic needs. At Ironwood, a living, learning laboratory is ever present within the 500 acre setting and through the multi-faceted experiential educational programs and core academic offerings. The curriculum is designed to effectively address a variety of learning styles, allowing students to successfully engage with their studies and relax into learning.
Our large variety of enrichment programs are designed to introduce the student to a new skill or spark a new interest or passion. Our goal is not simply to provide factual information, but to inspire young people to learn and thrive. During their stay with us, upper level resident teens also have the opportunity to participate in off-campus field trips and outings such as snow skiing, white water rafting, golfing, canoeing, and camping/hiking-- activities designed to improve their skills and broaden their interests. A number of graduates have continued studies in a favorite new field and aspired to become professionals in the areas of dog training, equestrian, and culinary arts.
